A licensing officer of the Ayurveda department of Uttarakhand government said that there was no mention of coronovirus in Patanjali's coronil license application. In contrast, Ramdev had previously stated that all permissions have been taken.
Aday after Patanjali Ayurveda was asked by the Ayush Ministry to stop all promotions of its claimed Covid-19 cure, a licencing officer from Uttarakhand government's Ayurved department said the approval application for Coronil did not mention coronavirus.
Quoting the licencing officer, news agency ANI reported that Patanjali’s Coronil application only got licence approval as an immunity booster, and for cough and fever.
“We'll issue them a notice asking how they got permission to make the kit for Covid-19,” the licencing officer told the news agency.

Soon after Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s, Patanjali launched the Ayurvedic cure for Covid-19, the government’s Ayush Ministry issued a notification, saying that it has sought details of the medicine such as name and composition, research study details, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration and result data.
Till then, the government has asked Patanjali to refrain from advertising the medicine kit as Covid-19 cure. It may be noted that Patanjali's corona kit includes Swasari Vati, Coronil and Anu Tel.
The ministry had also requested the State Licensing Authority of Uttarakhand Government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines that were promoted Patanjali as cure for the deadly virus infection.
"Ministry of AYUSH has taken cognizance of the news being recently flashed in the media about Ayurvedic medicines developed for the treatment of Covid-19 by Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, Haridwar (Uttrakhand). Facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known to the ministry," the notification said.

Ramdev had claimed on Tuesday that the Patanjali Research Institute has invented Coronil — an Ayurvedic cure for the novel coronavirus. The yoga guru went on to say that Coronil has been tested in a randomised placebo-controlled clinical trial on Covid-19 patients.
"We conducted a clinical case study and clinical controlled trial, and found 69 per cent patients recovered in three days and 100 per cent patients recovered in seven days," Ramdev said.
